Active and passive voice

Note-कुछ Verbs के पश्चात Passive Voice में 'by' Prepisition के स्थान पर अन्य Prepisition का प्रयोग होता है।

Rule(a)-surprised astonished disappointed, distressed, displeased तथा alarmed के पश्चात Passive Voice में "at"का प्रयोग होता है।जैसे-

Active- His answer surprised me.

Passive-I was surprised at his answer.

Active-Your victory astonished us.

Passive-We were astonished at your victory.

Active-His failure disappointed me.

Passive-I was disappointed at his failure.

Active-Their accident distressed me.

Passive-I was distressed at their accident.

Active-His rude behaviour displeased the guest.

Rule(b)-Known तथा Obliged के पश्चात Passive Voice में'to'आता है।

Active-His rude behaviour displeased the guest.

Passive-The guest was displeased at his rude behaviour.

Active-This news alarmed his friends.

Passive-His friends were alarmed at this news.

Rule(b)-Known तथा Obliged के बाद Passive Voice में 'to'आता है। जैसे-

Active-Everybody knows Narendar Modi.

Passive-Narendra Modi is known to everybody.

Active-You will oblige me.

Passive-I will be obliged to you.

Rule (c)-Pleased, Satisfied, disgusted, charmed,thronged,lined आदि के पश्चात Passive Voice में "With" का प्रयोग होता है। जैसे-

Active-My politeness pleased him.

Passive-He was pleased with my politeness.

Active-Your performance satisfies the teachers.

Passive-The teachers are satisfied with your performance.

Active-His defeat disgusted his friends.

Passive-His friends were disgusted with his defeat.

Active-Her sweet voice charmed the listeners.

Passive-The listeners were charmed with her sweet voice.

Active-The students thronged the collage hall.

Passive-The college hall was thronged with the students.

Active-The passenger lined the booking window.

Passive-The booking window was lined with the passenger.

Rule-Contained तथा Interested के पश्चात Passive Voice में 'in'का प्रयोग होता है। जैसे-

Active-This bag contains many books.

Passive-Many books are contained in this bag.

Active-This song interests the audience.

Passive-The audience are interested in this song.

Active-This poem interests me.

Passive-I am interested in this poem.

Note-कुछ Intransitive Verbs के साथ preposition का प्रयोग होता है।Prepositions के साथ मिलकर क्रियाएं (Verbs)transitive Verbs का कार्य करती है।Passive Voice में prepisition क्रिया के साथ रहता है। जैसे-

Active-The teachers laughed at the students.

Passive-The students laughed at by the teachers.

Active-The servant looks after my children.

Passive-My children are looked after by the servant.
