 1.Que-What are the two strange things the guru and his disciple find in the kingdom of fools ?

 Ans. (1) In the kingdom of fools people worked during the night and slept during the day. 

(2) Everything there cost the same price. 

2.Que-Why does the disciple decide to stay in the kingdom of fools? Is it a good idea? 

 Ans. The disciple wanted to stay in the kingdom of fools because everything here could be bought in a very low price. But it was not a good idea because he fell into trouble in the kingdom of fools.

Que.3- Name all the people who are brought in the king's court, and give the reasons for their trial.

 Ans. The first person was the owner of the house. He defended himself by saying that the wall was made by the bricklayer. The bricklayer was the second person questioned in the trial. He blamed the dancing girl for disturbing his work by going up and down the street whole day. The dancing girl was questioned. She said that goldsmith was responsible for making him walk up and down the street as he would not make her jewellery. The gold smith was questioned then. He defended himself by saying that he had no time for the dancing girl's jewellery because he was engaged in making the jewellery of a rich man. The rich man was the father of the merchant who was questioned in the beginning.

Que.4- Who is the real culprit according to the king? Why does he escape punishment? 

Ans. The merchant's father was held responsible for making the wall weak. But he was not living now. So, the merchant was to be punished in place of his father. But he escaped the punishment because he was so thin that he could not be executed properly in the stake. 

Que.5-What are the Guru's words of wisdom? When does the disciple remember them?

 Ans. The guru's words were "This is a city of fools. You don't know what they will do next." The disciple remembered these words when he was arrested by king's men to execute him merely because he would fit in the stake. 

Que.6- How does the guru manage to save his disciple's life?

Ans. The disciple prayed to his guru. The guru arrived to save him in time. He said something to his disciple. The disciple understood it. According to the plan, the guru asked the king to execute him in place of his disciple. The guru and the disciple strated to quarrel. It amazed the king. The guru told the king that whoever went to the stake first would be born as a king. The king wanted to be a king in his next birth too. He and his minister decided to go to the stake themselves at night. They had died. The kingdom of the fool had become normal again. In this way the disciple escaped.

Que.1-What was foolish about the King's trial of the merchant?  

Ans. A thief broke into a merchant's house. He made a hole in the wall of the house. The wall was old and collapsed on his head. He died on the spot. The thief's brother complained to the king. The king summoned the merchant and accused him that he should have built the wall strong. But the merchant escaped the punishment because he was so thin that he could not be excited properly in the stake. On his place the innocent disciple was brought because he was fat and fit for the stake.

Que.2-Who was finally blamed for the crime, and why?  

Ans. The merchant's father was responsible for making the wall weak. He had died. So, the merchant was to be punished in place of his father. 

Que.3-Now justice had come full circle, thought the king. What argument did the merchant come up with? What counter-argument did the king give? 

 Ans. The merchant said that his father had died. He had ordered to make the jewellery. He was innocent. The king said that the merchant had inherited his father's sins. So he must be punished in his father's place.

 4. Why was it decided to execute the disciple?

  Ans. The merchant was very thin. He could not be executed on the stake. So, the king ordered to search a person who was fit to the stake.The disciple was a fat person.He was fit to be executed. So, the king decided to execute the disciple. 

Que.5-How did the kingdom become normal again? 

Ans. After the death of the king and the minister, people found that the guru would be a good king and his disciple the minister. Both agreed to become the king and the minister. They changed the old laws. Now day was called day and night was called night. In this way the kingdom of fools returned to normal again.
